Dare to Believe!
So on Wednesday I sold my Corvette! I decided on Sunday I would test the water to see if it was time. Within 30 minutes of placing the add we had a great offer, actually for more than I paid for it 4 years ago! God is truly amazing! Now I’m anticipating purchasing the next one. The opportunity to order a new one won’t open up until July, then from what I hear, it’s about a 12 month process. So, for now I dream :)
Many people will judge you for being blessed and having nice things. The truth is, it’s not about what you have, but what has you. Lord willing, we will get a new one, but do or don’t, it will have no bearing on my joy, peace or identity. It’s true, as humans, we may be disappointed when things don’t go as planned, but there’s a vast difference between disappointment or being all out distraught. We must become so grounded in our relationship with Jesus that He becomes the only true source of fulfillment in our lives. Over the years there’s been many times that I thought if only this circumstance would change or I had something I felt I needed, then I’d be happy... none of those things ever changed the condition of my heart...but JESUS!!
I’ve learned over these many years of serving Him that I can have all of the blessings my heart desires and still be depressed and irritated with life. On the other hand, we’ve been in situations, without work and no income whatsoever, yet we were filled with the greatest joy as we worshipped God and watched as He miraculously provided for our every need and took care of every detail. Those seasons were actually some of our fondest moments and greatest testimonies!
There’s adventure to be found in every season. Even as I’ve faced incredible pain and a bad prognosis, though the news was not what I wanted to hear... the joy of the miracle way outweighed the initial disappointment. There’s so many miracles to be experienced and enjoyed if we will stay focused on Jesus in every season. No matter how blessed or how difficult it may be, keep delving into His Word, realize how much you’re loved, and keep the faith, believing that He always fulfills His promises to those who will DARE to believe!
Hebrew 1:6 (TPT) And without faith living within us it would be impossible to please God. For we come to God in faith knowing that He is real and that He rewards the faith of those who passionately seek Him.
Psalm 34:1-10 (TPT) Lord! I’m bursting with joy over what you’ve done for me! My lips are full of perpetual praise. I’m boasting of you and all your works, so let all who are discouraged take heart. Join me, everyone! Let’s praise the Lord together. Let’s make him famous! Let’s make his name glorious to all. Listen to my testimony: I cried to God in my distress and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears! Gaze upon him, join your life with his, and joy will come. Your faces will glisten with glory. You’ll never wear that shame-face again. When I had nothing, desperate and defeated, I cried out to the Lord and he heard me, bringing his miracle-deliverance when I needed it most. The angel of Yahweh stooped down to listen as I prayed, encircling me, empowering me, and showing me how to escape. He will do this for everyone who fears God. Drink deeply of the pleasures of this God. Experience for yourself the joyous mercies he gives to all who turn to hide themselves in him. Worship in awe and wonder, all you who’ve been made holy! For all who fear him will feast with plenty. Even the strong and the wealthy grow weak and hungry, but those who passionately pursue the Lord will never lack any good thing.
