God's Purpose Prevails

Proverbs 19:20-21 (MSG) Take good counsel and accept the correction - that's the way to live wisely and well. We humans keep brainstorming options and plans, but God's purpose prevails.

Prevail: prove more powerful than opposing forces; be victorious

If you are searching for wisdom, the book of Proverbs is the place to be! The question is, will you follow the words and instruction you find? Many people can offer their advice or their recommendation to you but how often do you go to the scriptures first to seek counsel? Once you find the counsel, do you accept the correction?

Reading the bible and listening to sermons will always be much more effective in your life when you apply the instructions that you are given. When I preach a sermon, it's something that I have been studying and praying about, seeking God for His wisdom on what to share. It is something that I know He wants me to share at that particular time and it is not so I can have a round of applause. It is so those who are listening to the messages can apply the sermon to their own lives and their own situation so they can be victorious.

We can brainstorm all of our options and plans but at the end of the day, it's God's purpose that will always be victorious and prove to be more powerful than any idea or plan man can think of in their own strength. You have access to the world's greatest mind, God the Father! Take advantage of your all-access pass and talk to the one who can help you the most. He is your comforter, healer, counselor, strong-tower, your Abba-Father. He loves you and is ready to give you guidance in your life. It is up to you to accept His correction.
