Unplug from the World
Proverbs 23:12 (AMP) Apply your heart to discipline and your ears to words of knowledge.
Imagine a world where everyone chose to live by discipline rather than feelings. Everyone would be their ideal weight, people would not have as much to fight about, students would all have straight A's because they would choose to study over play, right? Apply your ears to words of knowledge - imagine that - choosing to listen to something that will increase your knowledge rather than something that causes fear, anxiety, or just doesn't edify you in any way. Time wasting - would go away.
Many people who are highly successful have a common theme, they are highly disciplined. They eat right, they exercise, they read A LOT, they choose to make good decisions that will have a great impact on their future and the future of others.
This shouldn't be new news to any of us - God's word is timeless. It works for every season. The trick is applying the biblical truth to our lives. This is the discipline part - in 2021 we have the most advanced technology ever and also the greatest amount of distractions. We must make a decision to be students of the Word, not just pew-sitters and bench-warmers. We are 1 decision away from making radical changes in our lives - this can be catastrophic or miraculous. Are you allowing God to have His way in your life or are you still being the ruler of your world? Take time to admit the poor decisions and repent - then take time to make a great decision and study the Word. You will grow in discipline, spiritually, relationally, mentally, and more. Less screen time and more Jesus time. Unplug from the world and connect with Jesus.
Psalm 46:10 (TPT) Surrender your anxiety. Be still and realize that I am God. I am God above all the nations, and I am exalted throughout the whole earth.
1 Chronicles 16:8-11 (NLT) Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done. Sing to him; yes, sing his praises. Tell everyone about his wonderful deeds.
Exult in his holy name; rejoice, you who worship the Lord. Search for the Lord and for his strength;
continually seek him.
