Holy Desperation
I don't know about you, but I'm more desperate to know Jesus than I've ever been before! I come home each evening and instead of eating dinner, I go to my room and spend hours in His presence, weeping, laughing, praising, praying, reading, sharing and listening. I am so hungry for a deeper revelation of His glory, power and love. It's interesting though, the more time I spend with Him, the more I realize I know absolutely nothing about Him. (He's greater than I've ever imagined and I'm completely ravished by His beauty and grace.)
With this realization it makes me desire to read my Bible more and cling tightly to the Holy Spirit. I know that I desperately need Him to navigate me through the process of deeper intimacy with my Bridegroom.
I've yielded to the purging process, I no longer want the world to own any part of me. In John 14:30 Jesus said that the enemy had nothing on Him. It's only as we sin that the door is open for him to have his way. We belong to Christ and as servants of the Most High and children of the Living God, we must become sensitive to the conviction of the Holy Ghost. He must be given access to every dark crevice of our soul. Allow His light to shine as it exposes the areas that require purification and change. Holding on to sin, unforgivness, offense and bitterness is no longer acceptable. He desires to take us deeper into His presence and where we are going will require that we shed our baggage and cling to Him like never before!
Time is short and there's a world out there that's dying and going to hell. It's time to stop thinking about what we can get from this life and begin to ask the Lord what He desires for us to give. I'll give you a clue... it's everything! Your hopes, dreams, time and devotion, in exchange for the life that we were designed to live. It's a fully surrendered life, filled with passion and absolute pleasure, joy and fulfillment. Does that mean you'll never have another problem? Nope! But even in the midst of the attacks you'll be overwhelmed by the peace that surrounds you. Yeah... there's a price to pay for His glory... but once you do, you'll realize that the price you pay is transformed into the greatest blessing you've ever experienced as you position yourself in the center of His will!!!!
Matthew 16:24-26 (ESV) Then Jesus told His disciples, “If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?"
John 14:30-31 (MSG) I’ve told you this ahead of time, before it happens, so that when it does happen, the confirmation will deepen your belief in me. I’ll not be talking with you much more like this because the chief of this godless world is about to attack. But don’t worry—he has nothing on me, no claim on me. But so the world might know how thoroughly I love the Father, I am carrying out my Father’s instructions right down to the last detail. “Get up. Let’s go. It’s time to leave here.”
1 John 2:17-19 (MSG) Don’t love the world’s ways. Don’t love the world’s goods. Love of the world squeezes out love for the Father. Practically everything that goes on in the world—wanting your own way, wanting everything for yourself, wanting to appear important—has nothing to do with the Father. It just isolates you from Him. The world and all its wanting, wanting, wanting is on the way out—but whoever does what God wants is set for eternity.
