The Power of a Fully Surrendered Life
When I talk about Intimacy with Jesus, it's not just about growing closer to Him and feeling His incredible peace, comfort and fulfillment. You see, the closer you get to Him the more of His Spirit will flow out of you and touch the world around you. We have no power within our flesh to touch and change lives, but a truly surrendered child of God allows the Holy Spirit to have His way in their lives.
It's only in close proximity to Him that we hear His voice. He doesn't whisper in the ears of strangers. It's out of our relationship... our deeply intimate relationship, that we can clearly hear and recognize the voice of the Spirit.
It's not only your life that depends upon it but your family, friends and the world around you that relies on what you do with that relationship.
When my son was away from God and ready to commit suicide, praise God I was close enough to the Lord for Him to warn me. I called a friend and spent the day in intercession at our church until Josh walked into the service that night. He repented and with tears, surrendered His life to Christ. It wasn't until a few years later that I heard him preach a message about the night he had planned to commit suicide that I realized the magnitude of what God had done.
It is because I walk close enough to hear His voice that I've had specific words for people that lead them to Christ, brought freedom and deliverance and saved them from taking their own lives.
There's so much that I've seen God do through a life that's surrendered, but it's still not enough. There are so many things that Christ did and He said greater things shall we do. He doesn't lie, I've just not gotten close enough yet. How many more lives are depending on us to go deeper, so that they can be set free. I'm not satisfied where I am spiritually, there's so much more of Christ that needs to be revealed through His children.
Don't ever think you've arrived to spiritual perfection. We are nothing without Him, but what we can accomplish as we continually draw closer... is limitless! Don't stop pursuing Him... it's not just about you, but it blesses the heart of the Father and allows His Spirit to have His way in changing lives through you. What can be greater!?
John 14:12-14 (NLT) “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father.Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
Acts 14:3 (NLT) But the apostles stayed there a long time, preaching boldly about the grace of the Lord. And the Lord proved their message was true by giving them power to do miraculous signs and wonders.
2 Corinthians 5:9 (NKJV) Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him.
Romans 12:1-2 (AMP) Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies [dedicating all of yourselves, set apart] as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to God, which is your rational (logical, intelligent) act of worship. And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].
