You Have All That You Need

Psalms 23:1 (NLT) The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.

If only I was smarter, knew more of the Bible, had more time or money, was a better speaker or writer, had talent or heard from God like others do, I could do amazing things for His Kingdom! There are so many excuses we can use to run from the calling of God. I know...I've used them! It used to frustrate me so much because I knew there was a calling upon my life, yet I didn't know how to express what He was doing on the inside of me. It would be easy for me to allow fear of failure and rejection to control and even cage me into...frankly...a very comfortable box...

I used to think this scripture only applied to material things…but one day, I began to see something, I HAD ALL THAT I NEEDED! As I eagerly sought more of his anointing to accomplish all that he's called me to do, I found peace in this scripture, and I realized I am complete in HIM!

My passion, as most of you know, is intercessory prayer and intimacy with Jesus. I would be quite comfortable just staying locked in with Him, but all those years in the Secret Place were preparation for the things He is now calling me to do. Does that change my nature? No, I'm still the same person who would prefer not to put myself out there at the mercy of the scrutiny of others. My flesh still enjoys its comfort zone.

God knew when He chose us to do things that were completely impossible in the natural, that it would chase us into His arms and cause us to become completely dependent upon Him. Starting out by doing it afraid is completely acceptable as long as you do it! You must be obedient to His calling and live a life that chases hard after God! You must have a desire to fulfill the destiny He has specifically designed for you.

I'd love to say that I take on every responsibility He gives me fearlessly, but that would be a lie. The truth is, I am desperate for His anointing to equip me for whatever task that's at hand. I can't write, preach, teach, or even enter His presence by my own strength or ability, but that's okay, because there's nothing we can't accomplish with His direction, power and anointing at work within us.

You may feel like you've been shortchanged in the gifting department, and you could never be effective for the Kingdom of God, but the truth is...all that you need to fulfill His purpose in your life is in HIM and He is in YOU! It's not about your strengths and abilities but what you allow His Spirit to do in and through you!

So...as my mind begins to focus on my weaknesses, I'm reminded that a Shepherd directs and guides His sheep in the way He desires them to go. As we make Jesus our Shepherd, He will lead us into our destiny and equip us to fulfill it, because with Him WE HAVE ALL THAT WE NEED!

Zechariah 4:6 (NKJV) ...Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, Says the Lord of hosts.

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV) I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Luke 1:37 (NKJV) For with God nothing will be impossible.

Philippians 1:6 (KJV) Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.

Proverbs 3:5-8 (TPT) Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on Him to guide you, and He will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and He will lead you wherever you go. Don’t think for a moment that you know it all, for wisdom comes when you adore Him with undivided devotion and avoid everything that’s wrong.
