Transformed in His Presence

Psalm 103:7 (KJV) He made known his ways unto Moses, His acts unto the children of Israel.

Moses, a man who spent 40 days and 40 nights face to face with God. Can you imagine? No food or even water but would that even be important as we are feeding from every word that precedes from the mouth of God! When he returns from his time with the Lord, His face radiates with His Glory!

In a drastic contrast are the Children of Israel at the foot of Mount Sinai. They've been given an invitation by God through Moses. The Lord had a special plan for His people. They were excited to hear there was a blessing coming! "Whatever God says, we will do," they chanted!

They prepare themselves for two days and on the third day, as the trumpet blasts, they are to approach the mountain. They can't go to the top as Moses did because they hadn't paid the price he paid in developing his relationship with the Lord. But what a blessing was available to them... to approach the presence, view His Glory and actually hear His voice!

The trumpet blasts and they run to the edge of the mountain prepared to receive the blessing! What they see and hear is not at all what they expected! The ground is shaking, there's lightning and thunder!! The power that was manifested was frightening! The Words they heard God speak to Moses were filled with requirements... there was a price to pay! They wanted the blessing without the sacrifice!

They ran in fear and when Moses returned, they told him, he could commune with God for them, but they wanted no part of it!!!

Sad isn't it!? They missed the opportunity for the greatest blessing of their lives! Moses loved God so much, he was willing to risk his life to seek Him. He knew the value of drawing that close to God!

So, who do you relate to in this story? I know Christians on both sides of this. Some ask continually for the prayers of others...not for a prayer of agreement but simply because they are not willing to make the sacrifice of time to draw close to God by studying His Word and spending time in prayer, praise, and worship. They depend on everyone else's relationship with the Lord to get them through. He's got incredible blessings waiting for you but what He wants more is YOU!  Intimate, fully surrendered, sold out lovers of God!!

It's time for each of us to take our relationship to the next level... there's so much of God that we have not even began to experience and so much more He desires to do in and through us! It's time to enter the thick cloud of His glory and become transformed in His presence!

Exodus 20:18-19 (NKJV) Now all the people witnessed the thunderings, the lightning flashes, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood afar off. Then they said to Moses, “You speak with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we die.”

Exodus 34:29 (AMPC) When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tables of the Testimony in his hand, he did not know that the skin of his face shone and sent forth beams by reason of his speaking with the Lord.

Exodus 19:5-9 (NKJV) Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.” So Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before them all these words which the Lord commanded him. Then all the people answered together and said, “All that the Lord has spoken we will do.” So Moses brought back the words of the people to the Lord. And the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, I come to you in the thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you and believe you forever.”
