The Unimaginable Sacrifice

As I reflect on the cross I think about the blood that was shed…the stripes upon Jesus' back…full payment for my sickness, diseases, fears, pain, rejection, insecurities and every form of sin and debauchery. We are saved from eternal damnation and given eternal life! Why? Why such love and sacrifice? What did we ever do to deserve it? It boggles my mind to think of it. Not once did we ever come close... not on our best day could we deserve... it's too much to comprehend!
This love that saw our mess yet relentlessly pursued us until it permeated our souls. This sacrifice of such horrific proportions yet was not withheld but willingly offered in our defense. I just can't wrap my mind around it!! Why me, why you?? As if the sacrifice for our salvation, eternal life, and a relationship with the Trinity was not enough, the continual attention to the details of our daily existence... just unimaginable! He's called us and He has a specific plan for each of our lives... WOW!! The culmination of every trial, circumstance, pain, and blessing formed in us a unique perspective and purpose.
His favor, blessings, peace , power, and authority that we've been given are so incredible, but what I appreciate most of all is that He desires a relationship with me... He desires it with YOU!! The ultimate price was paid for just that! Does that blow your mind like it does mine!?
Don't waste another day doing your own thing with no time for the one who gave all for you! Worship Him, let Him know how much you love Him and appreciate the sacrifice. Study His Word and see what He saying to you. He desires that relationship... shouldn't you?
Romans 5:7-10 (AMPC) Now it is an extraordinary thing for one to give his life even for an upright man, though perhaps for a noble and lovable and generous benefactor someone might even dare to die. But God shows and clearly proves His [own] love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us. Therefore, since we are now justified (acquitted, made righteous, and brought into right relationship with God) by Christ’s blood, how much more [certain is it that] we shall be saved by Him from the indignation and wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, it is much more [certain], now that we are reconciled, that we shall be saved (daily delivered from sin’s dominion) through His [resurrection] life.
Isaiah 53:3-6 (KJV) He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
John 14:23 (KJV) Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
