The Sweet Whispers of His Spirit

John 16:13 (KJV) But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future].

What is Holy Spirit speaking to you? Where is He leading? What does He want from you? You may think that He isn't communicating with you, but the truth is God has an incredible plan designed specifically for you and He desires to share it with you!

Let me explain for a moment how these devotions are written. I have no natural talent to write. I simply sit in the presence of God after studying His Word, then worship, pray, and wait until He drops a message into my heart. It may start out as just a word or phrase. When I begin, I have no idea which way it will go. Is that intimidating to me... I'll be honest with you, even after 8 years of doing this, I often start out wondering how in the world can I possibly write another devotion, but I can't focus on that, I must remain focused on Jesus. As time is spent in His presence it just begins to flow with no effort of my own... All glory to the Holy Spirit and His anointing. 

The key to writing or hearing His voice in any other way is quite simply showing up, reading His Word, and communing with Him. Just as any other conversation, we confidently wait for a response. It may take minutes or hours, but it is always worth it! 

2 Corinthians 13:14 (KJV) The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. 

I know you've experienced the grace of Jesus and the love of God... but have you enjoyed the communion of the Holy Spirit? The Greek translation of communion is κοινωνία-participation, communication, and partnership. It's a 2-way conversation. If you're not opening your Bible during your time with Him, you're missing out on so much that He desires to share with you! As you read His Word there's always new revelation that comes forth. Sometimes His words drop in your heart as a thought but make no mistake, if you set your mind to seek Him, He will make His desires known to you! He's not a silent partner or a dead God but a powerful divine lover who will lead and guide you into His perfect will for your life! Then He will equip and anoint you to do what He's called you to do!

Psalm 25:14 (TPT) "There's a private place reserved for the devoted lovers of YAHWEH, where they sit near him and receive the revelation-secrets of his promises."

You don't have to run to others to see what they think you should do. You were given access to the Word of God and His Spirit who is always with you and is even in you! You have all you need!! Read your Bible and tarry a while in His presence... get close enough to hear the sweet whispers of His Spirit. He’s waiting to share His secrets with you!

John 14:17 (KJV) Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you and shall be in you.

John 14:26 (KJV) But the Comforter, who is the Holy Ghost whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Isaiah 48:17 (KJV) Thus saith the Lord, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.

Isaiah 30:21 (AMPC) And your ears will hear a word behind you, saying, This is the way; walk in it, when you turn to the right hand and when you turn to the left.
