The Step of Faith
God never ceases to amaze me! As we step out in faith into all that He's calling us to do, His Spirit is right there guiding us every step of the way...
As many of you know from past devotions, I really don't like change. I'm a creature of habit and never get bored doing the same thing. Oh, don't get me wrong, that behavior is never acceptable with God, I'm merely sharing the way my flesh would like things to be. My spirit on the other hand, craves to serve God in any way He desires. My spirit always wins out, but that doesn't mean I'm comfortable stepping out by faith, into the unknown... it's just that following God's lead is the only way I choose to live my life! Let's face it, comfortable or not, our lives are miserable outside of God's perfect will.
I often hear pastors say that you'll know God's will by the peace you feel in your heart...hmmm...I never feel immediate peace outside of my comfort zone, but I know my flesh is fickle and my emotions will lead me down a path I was never intended to go. I don't base my obedience on my feelings. Amid crazy nervousness and at times fear and anxiety the forward steps into your calling must be taken.
Our response can no longer be, I CAN'T, I'M UNQUALIFIED or I DON'T HAVE THE TIME. If any of these are excuses you've made in not moving forward into your destiny you must realize that those words come straight from the pit of hell and it's the enemy's scheme in hindering your progress!! YOU CAN, HE QUALIFIES THE MOST UNQUALIFIED BY HIS SPIRIT AND YOU MUST MAKE THE TIME! We don't trust in our ability but His strength in and through us! That doesn't mean you stretch yourself so thin that you no longer have time to study your Bible and spend time with Jesus. Sometimes we must say no so we can stay in our lane and be the most effective. But if you are saying no because it will interfere with your personal time... take a step back, reprioritize and make the first thing first! Take the step of faith, surrender, seek and serve! Trust that He will empower you to do whatever He calls you to do!
1 Peter 4:10-11 (NKJV) As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Matthew 16:25 (NKJV) For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.
Philippians 1:6 (NKJV) Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
Matthew 6:33 (KJV) But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Psalms 9:10 (TPT) For everyone who knows your wonderful name keeps putting their trust in you. They can count on you for help no matter what. O Lord, you will never, no never, neglect those who come to you.
Zechariah 4:6 (NKJV) So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts."
