Our Greatest Blessing Part 2

ree

As I minister to Christians, I realize a common denominator with most of them. They love the Lord, but they are absolutely miserable. They want to meet with me to be heard as they talk about their problems, but they refuse the solution. They want God to fix their issues without doing the work that's necessary.

If God loves me, why isn't he fixing this? I've rebuked the enemy, but he is still tormenting me... My answer is always the same no matter the issue. I teach them to dedicate time to seek the Lord through His Word and focusing on Him through worship, then sharing their heart and needs with Him. He's told us in His Word to cast our cares on Him, for He cares for us... yet it's rarely the answer they are looking for. They want a quick microwave fix without the time necessary building a strong and intimate relationship with the author and finisher of their faith!

If God's children could understand the value and life changing impact seeking His face and reveling in His glory can produce, their lives would never be the same. Unfortunately, many have reduced Christianity to a prayer and language of Christianese. Throw in a little time reading the Word when time permits, occasionally volunteering at church and praying when they have a need and they feel far superior to other Christians. So they must be ok... right? Yet, their emotions and depression rule their lives. Relationships and what others think of them takes precedence over surrendering their hearts to Christ. Then they are disappointed when things begin to unravel... why would God allow this?!

I've said it before, but it's worth repeating. God wants you blessed, but don't forget what He said in His Word, 3 John 2 (KJV) Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. He won't bless at the price of your soul. What He desires more than your blessing is YOU! All of you! Every crevice of your soul fully surrendered to Him! Yes! He's a jealous God and if other things become more important to us than Him, He loves us enough to remove them from our lives.

Repent, surrender, and stop putting pressure on others to fulfill you in a way that only He can! It's time to enjoy His greatest blessing of all! JESUS!!

James 4:8 (TLB) And when you draw close to God, God will draw close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and let your hearts be filled with God alone to make them pure and true to him.

Psalm 14:2 (NKJV) The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God.

1 Peter 5:6-8 (KJV)  Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.

Hebrews 12:1-2 (NKJV) Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the [a]author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Matthew 6:33 (KJV) But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
