More Than Enough
Do you feel unqualified to accomplish anything of worth for the Lord? We all know ourselves, our weaknesses, failures, and fears. Knowing that, makes it extremely incomprehensible that the God of the Universe would possibly want us to represent Him. I was discussing this with Him, telling Him how much I appreciated the fact that He's given me favor and uses me, but not fully understanding why He would choose this vessel when there are those who are much more refined, educated and qualified.
Sure, I've given Him my all, but I know that's not much in comparison to what He's given me... the life of His Son... an incredible relationship with Him, purpose, peace, joy, love, power, authority, healing and eternal life. How does that compare? Then with tear filled eyes, I began pointing out what His other children have accomplished compared to my measly offering...then it hit me! I was reminded of this scripture!
Luke 21:1-4 (MSG) Just then He looked up and saw the rich people dropping offerings in the collection plate. Then He saw a poor widow put in two pennies. He said, “The plain truth is that this widow has given by far the largest offering today. All these others made offerings that they’ll never miss; she gave extravagantly what she couldn’t afford—SHE GAVE HER ALL!”
It's not about the size of the gift but the sacrifice associated with it. Though your contribution to God's Kingdom may go unnoticed or may seem menial compared to others, that's not how God sees it. He gave you a unique and specific role. If you allow the enemy to convince you that your gift is worthless, you'll withhold it, and it will affect the entire body of Christ.
Surrendering completely to the Lord's will, putting Him first, studying His Word and passionately seeking His presence, is the place where you'll discover your purpose and it will bring you the fulfillment you've been desiring. By the way, it may not look the way you think it should or have anything to do with your natural talents or abilities. He may be calling you to do things that will force you out of your box of security and comfort, and make you depend completely on Him! It's not about how talented, intelligent, educated or perfect you are, but the question is... have YOU given your all? No matter what that is, when it's anointed by God it's more than enough!
2 Corinthians 3:5 (NLT) It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God.
2 Corinthians 9:8 (TPT) Yes, God is more than ready to overwhelm you with every form of grace, so that you will have more than enough of everything —every moment and in every way. He will make you overflow with abundance in every good thing you do.
1 Corinthians 1:26-29 (KJV) For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence.
Zechariah 4:6 (NKJV) So He answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts.
