Missing the Blessing

How often do we miss out on a blessing? We go through trials and though we know they are designed to shape our character, teach us lessons, and ultimately give us a testimony of the goodness of God, we abort the mission before it’s completed.

The trials I’ve faced in this life have all been great teaching and growth tools. They catapulted me further into the presence of God...even if it was out of sheer desperation. Many times I could have chosen an easier way out or even given up on the battle. When I knew that I was exactly where He wanted me to be, doing what He called me to do, it often kept me in circumstances that were much less than desirable.

He blesses us for our obedience, especially against opposition, stress and even pain. It’s not that He desires to see His children in distress, but He will use any means to draw us closer, build our faith and teach us valuable lessons. He’s a good Father who wants His children blessed, but His definition of blessed is much different than ours. His primary desire is that we seek Him, surrender our lives and trust Him with it. So, He lays out a path in a direction we never thought we’d go in, then we are given choices. The path of least resistance or the one that has bumps, curves, hills and pot holes, but it’s the route He’s chosen to our destiny. One that requires that we dive into His Word for answers, cling tightly to the arm of Jesus and follow the Holy Spirit’s GPS.

God’s will never looks the way we think it will and the road to it is often paved with trials and sometimes even confusion and pain, but that’s just obstacles that must be tackled and destroyed by faith. Don’t look at the wall of opposition before you as a closed door, then throw up your arms and retreat from the battle. Stand strong on God’s Word! Believe that He’s working it all out for your good! Take your position as a Child of God! Realize that YOU were given all authority over the works of the enemy! Use scriptures to fight for what belongs to you, then take back everything the enemy has stolen! You are victorious and loved! Jesus paid the price for your healing, freedom and peace. Don’t be bullied by the enemy to settle for anything less! Even in the trial you can experience perfect peace and joy on the road to your deliverance! Don’t cower in fear and miss out on the incredible blessings and testimony that follows every trial! Your blessing and someone else’s deliverance is waiting on the other side of your opposition! Don’t give up!
