Jeremiah 29:11-13 (NKJV) For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
Monday, we worked all day then worked out at the gym. We were in invited to our daughters for dinner, so we stopped there on our way home. By the time I got home, I was wiped out. All I wanted to do was get a bath and go to bed. I walked in the door and instead of turning left to my bedroom and bathroom, I quickly made a right-hand turn and headed down the hall to my prayer room... The minute I entered, the atmosphere was electrified by the Spirit of God! I felt His approval as time with Him was prioritized over my fleshly desires.
Time with Him is usually my priority. But this time I almost missed it! We don't always get it right, but when we do, and we enter His presence even when our flesh is screaming, NOOOO, He's always waiting with open arms of love! Following the needs and desires of our fleshly nature is so easy... it requires no thought and definitely no sacrifice, but it also yields no fruit! There's nothing that compares to time spent in the Word of God and on our faces before Him! Don't live in a cycle of good intentions filled with regret. He's either priority or the idols in our life are, be it social media, slumber, material possessions, sin, blessings, relationships, pain, murmuring and complaining... there's a never-ending list of Godless priorities and things that are constantly fighting for our attention.
Won't tomorrow be better? Not if you don't make a conscious decision to reevaluate where your time is spent. Just remember, He's waiting to spend time with you as you give Him your undivided attention, love, and adoration! There's nothing more fulfilling than this! Oh! His plan for your life? It starts right here! Get filled so that His Glory can flow through you and be poured out to the world around you! He's waiting!!
Acts 17:26-27 (KJV) From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.
1 Chronicles 16:8-12 (NLT) Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done. Sing to him; yes, sing his praises. Tell everyone about his wonderful deeds. Exult in his holy name; rejoice, you who worship the Lord. Search for the Lord and for his strength; continually seek him. Remember the wonders he has performed, his miracles, and the rulings he has given.
1 Chronicles 22:19a (NKJV) Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God...
Matthew 6:33 (NKJV) But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
