My French mother, who was raised by a very evil, Turkish, Muslim father, didn’t come to Jesus until she was in her mid 50's, but no time was wasted from that moment on. She spoke to everyone she came in contact with about Him…He had done so much for her! She was ordained into ministry in her 60's and spent several years working for God’s Kingdom in her modest inner-city ministry. Thousands came to Christ through her and the miracles that occurred through her prayer of faith were too many to count.
She had one prayer that was the desire of her heart. She would tell God, “When you're finished using me…take me home to be with you.” She desired to be used by God until the very end, no matter the cost.
In her mid 80's, while still ministering in the inner city she was attacked with Alzheimer’s. That sounds terrible, doesn’t it? Why would God allow someone who sacrificed everything to serve Him to end up in that condition...but there, in that memory care facility…where she may never had entered any other way…though her mind was fleeting, her spirit was so alive! She still ministered to everyone she came in contact with, and many were saved and healed. Even her care givers were powerfully touched, healed, and delivered.
Each of us has a unique calling but there is one thing that we all have in common and it’s the most powerful calling of all...Prayer. Prayer means different things in the Bible. In some scriptures it actually means to worship Him. That's my favorite part. Spending time with God with no ulterior motive but to bless Him! When I learned this, it became a game changer for me! Imagine…The King of kings and Lord of Lords…desires to commune with you and He’s blessed by your love and adoration. Oh, He wants us to pray for our needs and that of others…but I always start with worship…You see His Word tells us in Psalm 22:3 that He inhabits our praises…Do you get that? As you worship Him, He engulfs you in His tangible presence.
In the 91st Psalm it talks about the Secret Place…It’s that place of intimacy with Jesus where no devil can enter…It’s a secret and a place of protection, peace, and blessings like you could never experience from earthly means. In the Bible, He set aside a group of Levites to minister unto Him and to worship! Those are the ones I relate to the most in His Word. There’s nothing I love more…but that’s a calling we each have. He desires that we worship Him!
But there's those prayers we make for others and ourselves. God said, if you ask not, you have not. Do you know there's people who are depending on your prayers? They may not even know you but you're the channel God chooses to use to bring His will into fruition.
Never question your calling…we are never too young, too old, or too unqualified. You are uniquely created with purpose and loved by the creator of the Universe! There is no season in our lives that we are not deeply loved, necessary and needed to spread His love, worship Him, and pray His will into existence!
Ephesians 2:10 (KJV) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 3:18-20 (TPT) Then you will be empowered to discover what every holy one experiences—the great magnitude of the astonishing love of Christ in all its dimensions. How deeply intimate and far-reaching is his love! How enduring and inclusive it is! Endless love beyond measurement that transcends our understanding—this extravagant love pours into you until you are filled to overflowing with the fullness of God! Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you.
Romans 8:37-39 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
IN EVERY PHASE OF LIFE, YOU HAVE A PURPOSE! YOU ARE DEEPLY LOVED, WANTED AND SIGNIFICANT!
