Job 33:4 (KJV) The spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.
This message, like most, is partly for me right now. As I'm busy doing so many things, housework, relationships, a job, ministry, writing, preparing messages and frantically rushing to the next event...I'm reminded to just breathe...refocus and take time to come away with Him. It's His breath that gives me life!
My life isn't found in the doing but in the resting in His presence, studying His Word, prayer, and worship. It's found when I'm close enough to His lips to hear His voice and allow my hearts rhythm to beat with His. His desires transforming my soul, purging my mind and emotions, and drawing me into complete unity with Him!
My intimate time with the Lord is usually in the evening. I've always loved not having to stop at a certain time. There's so much that can disrupt during the day... but at night... that's just the habit I formed from years of getting up at 4:30 am for work. That's just my habit, the important thing is, that we have one! He must become the most important part of our day and be on our mind and lips throughout it as well. But this morning, I knew I needed to come away with Him. He was calling me into His presence and desired that I share this with you. I must say, all the striving is gone and replaced with total peace and joy!
Yes! Schedule time with God each day but don't limit your time with Him. Pray throughout the day, give Him the worship, and praise He deserves at every turn! But when you feel the tug or even begin to feel the world crashing in, run to Jesus! He's waiting with arms wide open for His beloved to cast their cares on Him and rest in His embrace as they breathe in refreshment that only comes from time fully focused upon Him! Make time for Him today!
Song of Solomon 2:10 (NKJV) My beloved spoke, and said to me: “Rise up, my love, my fair one, And come away."
1 Peter 5:7 (KJV) Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Matthew 11:28-30 (NLT) Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
James 4:13 (NLT) I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Isaiah 40:28-31 (NKJV) Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
Hebrews 4:9-10 (KJV) There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
Mark 6:31 (KJV) And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
