Be Vigilant
Compromise has become the norm in many Christians lives and even in some of our churches. As the world becomes more perverse the church's standards begin to falter as well. You see, when you allow a "little" sin in, you allow the enemy an opening into your life. When he comes it's not for a party and good times. His agenda is to ultimately destroy you and he will set traps to lead you away from God's plan for your life. He won't stop at just a little, he knows your weaknesses and he will design temptations to entice those desires and take you deeper into a pit of despair. It's his ultimate plan to lead you down a path that eventually separates you from God and brings emptiness, disillusionment, and depression. One day you turn around and wonder how you ever got to where you are. It all starts with just a little compromise.
As you begin to walk closer to God and know His Word you will become more aware of the enemy's tactics. Then if you fall, you will be quick to repent so that the chasm between you and He is closed, and the enemy no longer has a hold on you. Don't play with fire, keep your heart pure within your business, thoughts, actions, marriage, relationships, and life in general.
Be vigilant, keep your eyes open and remain sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Sprite. Be alert and aware of the traps set before you. You may think no one will find out but once you fall for it, it will be exposed so that the accuser can ruin your reputation, effectiveness for Gods Kingdom and ultimately your life. He will bring condemnation, shame will follow, and it will lead you further and further from your First Love. The good news is, God brings conviction that leads to repentance. Even if you have fallen for his schemes, Jesus is right there waiting with arms wide open. Repent and be restored, He loves you and you could never get too far for His loving arms to reach you!
2 Corinthians 7:9-10 (NLT) Now I am glad I sent it, not because it hurt you, but because the pain caused you to repent and change your ways. It was the kind of sorrow God wants his people to have, so you were not harmed by us in any way. For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.
Acts 3:19 (NKJV) Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,
1 Peter 5:6-8 (NKJV) Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
Revelations 3:15-19 (NKJV) “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent."
