Prepared for Battle

There are seasons where the attacks of the enemy are relentless. It becomes so ridiculous that it's obvious it's from the pit of hell. It's so easy to yield to the tide of destruction. All you have to do is give it your full attention. Once you've done that, the enemy has you right where he wants you. Fearful, exhausted, and stressed out...

I learned years ago that we as warriors can easily get beat up in the battle if we are not wearing our armor. We may spend time encouraging, helping and praying for others, doing everything right on the outside. We may even be busy working for God, but lose our own peace and strength in the process, if we are not getting replenished by the Word of God and spending time in prayer. Other times the busyness of the world can become more appealing than the quietness of our spirit in the presence of the Lord.

Our time is spent running circles, doing things that are of no profit to our soul. We go to bed with another day wasted, without any growth or spiritual progress. Hours, days, weeks, months and years go by and we find our purpose has been stifled by the demands upon our time. Useless diversions that draw us away from our effectiveness for the Kingdom of God. We then become depressed, weary, stressed out, frightened, sick and exhausted.

I understand, the busyness of life fights for my attention as well. It can be a struggle to stay focused and realize the importance of keeping God first, not only in our hearts and minds, but also in our time. But I know that I'm useless without an active and passionate relationship with Jesus. I can't write a lick nor minister the Gospel except by His anointing that is fueled in the Secret Place. I'm weak, angry and depressed if I'm not seeking Him daily!

There's an enemy that's doing everything in his power to stifle our growth and distract us from our purpose. Stop falling for his tricks and begin to discipline yourself to seek Jesus and His Word with fervor!

So today...reevaluate where your time is spent and what's really important. Step into your full armor and rest in the strength, protection, faith and refreshment that only comes from Him! Stand your ground and always stay prepared for the battle.

Let's face it, if you don't commit your life to Jesus in the midst of these trying times... chances are...you never will...don't waste another day...

1 Chronicles 16:10-11(NKJV) Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord! Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore!

Ephesians 6:10-18 (NLT) A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
