Praise His Holy Name

Psalm 103:1-2 (NLV) Praise the Lord, O my soul. And all this is within me, praise His holy name. Praise the Lord, O my soul. And forget none of His acts of kindness.

How often are we really giving God praise? There are days when I can allow my circumstances to blind my perception of God's goodness. Then other days I can only think about how great our God is; everything I have been forgiven of, delivered from and given all because of my Savior. I have also noted the difference when I am half-praising Him and praising Him with all that is within me: it's a deep passion that stirs on the inside of me. Something I cannot contain nor do I desire to contain it. I want to pray more, believe for more, fast more, increase my faith, increase my giving, increase in my awareness of those hurting around me and so much more.

Verse 2 of Psalm 103 says that we are not to forget His acts of kindness. If we could only grab ahold of the endless list of things God has done for us - we would be able to live life with less stress and anxiety about the unknown. God has everything under control, nothing surprises Him and already knows what is going to happen tomorrow. It is not our job to figure everything out, rather to trust in Him and continually praise His holy name. For He is good all the time and He wants to bless His children - even if we received nothing more than our Salvation, isn't that alone enough to give God praise every day!? He saved us from eternal death and we are raised to life in Him. That alone is praiseworthy - may we never forget what God has already done for us and may we focus on how we can bless Him in return!

Colossians 1:17 (AMP) And He Himself existed and is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. [His is the controlling, cohesive force of the universe.]

1 Corinthians 15:22 (NLV) But all those who belong to Christ will be raised to new life.
