A Reflection of His Love

Today my heart is running over with gratitude for the Love that God so freely shares with us. I'm amazed at the way He guides our steps and brings people into our path, if we'll just look for the clues.

Each of us has so much we can share. There's trials and tribulations that we've experienced that have the power to set others free, get them back on track to their destiny and greater intimacy with Jesus.

What I'm learning is that in order to have a greater awareness of the nudges of the Holy Spirit and increased compassion for the lost, I must walk in a greater level of Love. It's love that moved Jesus to die on a cross for even the most vile sinner. That wasn't something He had to force or conjure up, but it's who He is. So, if He's abiding in our hearts we must become possessed by the Spirit of Love.

I'm sharing this today because it's my heart's desire to be a reflection of God by reflecting His love to everyone I come in contact with. I want to be mindful of that throughout my day. That doesn't always come naturally for me, there's times that I have tunnel vision, focused on the task before me, but I'm pressing into Him believing that as I do, I'm taking on more of His heart and nature.

Life is so busy and it's easy to get caught up in all the bells and whistles that call out to us and distract us from our main purpose.... to reveal Jesus to the world around us. Yes, most of us have jobs, families to take care of and a multitude of things to get accomplished throughout our day. In the midst of all of the chores... don't forget Jesus. Draw strength from His love in your intimate time with Him, then allow it to overflow on the world around you. You may be the only reflection of Jesus they'll ever experience... make sure He is what they see and His love is what they feel when they are near you.

2 Corinthians 3:18 (TLB) But we Christians have no veil over our faces; we can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord. And as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like Him.

1 John 4:7-8 (NKJV) Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

Hebrews 13:1-3 (NLT) Keep on loving each other as brothers and sisters.Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it! Remember those in prison, as if you were there yourself. Remember also those being mistreated, as if you felt their pain in your own bodies.

1 Thessalonians 3:12-13 (TPT) And may the Lord increase your love until it overflows toward one another and for all people, just as our love overflows toward you. Then your hearts will be strengthened in holiness so that you may be flawless and pure before the face of our God and Father at the appearing of our Lord Jesus with all His holy ones. Amen!
