Desperate for Jesus

Psalm 73:25-26 (NLT) Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth. My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; He is mine forever.

This may make me sound weak, but the truth is, I can't do life without holding tightly to the Holy Spirit. The Word says that He's my counselor and comforter. When I'm not spending necessary time in the presence of God, I'm completely undone. Little things irritate me and stress attempts to cover me like a dark blanket of despair. You see... I'm desperate for Jesus! I am well aware of my weakness without His strength, ability and peace...I DESPERATELY need Him! So for me... not spending time in His presence... feeling the warmth of His embrace... it just isn't an option. My sanity and productivity is all wrapped up in my relationship with Him.

Some may think a person who desperately seeks Jesus with tenacity and passion must be strong. No, it just requires that we become humbly aware of our frailty without Him and our limitless, mind blowing strength and ability with Him!!! There's such peace, comfort and satisfaction when we are walking in complete dependence on Jesus. I don't want to spend a single day living my life for me and ignoring the sweet whispers of the Spirit that are beckoning me to come closer. We can find all of the answers and everything we need in His presence. Life is completely empty without Him and it leaves us lonely, fearful and frustrated. Stop trying to do it on your own terms. Give it up! Hand Him the reigns and let Him have His way as you begin to set your focus on seeking Him. Those problems you've been dealing with.. He's waiting for you to give up control, worry and doubt. Take your eyes off the issues and begin to look intently upon Him. There's nothing too big for Him to handle and He loves you enough to take care of you. He's a good God and He can be trusted.

Matthew 6:33 (ESV) But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT) Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
