Why I Write

As I was praying about what God wanted me to share with you in this devotion, He asked me a question... what is my purpose and desire in spending so much time writing these?

My passion is to see the Body of Christ become all that she was meant to be. That begins with a strong knowledge of God’s Word and an incredibly intimate relationship with Jesus.

Sadly, as I’ve counseled many people over the years... I’ve seen so much sickness, brokenness, depression, guilt and despair. It’s hard to imagine, when Christ has paid such an incredible price to make us whole, give us freedom, healing, peace, victory, forgiveness and joy unspeakable and full of glory!! I’m in no way talking about a perfect life, free from problems. God said we would have troubles, but they are only allowed into our lives to produce growth, character, strength, incredible testimonies and a deeper need and desire to stay close and cling tighter to Jesus! I don’t know about you, but I just can’t do life without Him, but with Him there’s nothing that He calls me to do that I can’t accomplish! I take no glory for that, it’s all by His anointing and strength.

So, why do I write? I want you to know how much you are loved and necessary for the advancement of God’s Kingdom. I want to entice you to turn from sin, study your Bible and get to truly know your Savior. I want you to realize the power and authority that’s been provided for you by the Holy Spirit, name of Jesus and His shed blood! I desire to see the Bride of Christ become the powerful army she was called to be! Strong yet humble, fully yielded, completely surrendered, set on fire by the power of His Spirit, anointed in her calling, devoted to her master and living a life of sacrifice, as she marches in unison with her fellow laborers! Not competing or comparing, but staying focused on the calling before her.

This is my heart and what God has called me to do... begin to examine what He’s placed in yours and what He’s calling you to do. Nothing is too big or too small when it comes to our service to Him. Every part of the body is necessary. The important thing is that we keep growing and seeking Him. He’ll reveal your position as you continue to draw closer.

This is just a reminder, though God cares about the details of our lives, it really isn’t all about you and your needs. We were created with a greater purpose and we must look past our own needs, desires and four walls. The enemy will do all he can to keep you too busy and distracted to find out who you really are, because if you truly surrender, seek God and do His will, you WILL be a threat!

1 Corinthians 1:26-29 (NLT) brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world’s eyes or powerful or wealthy when God called you. Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God.

1 Peter 1:7-9 (KJV) That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

2 Timothy 1:8-10 (MSG) So don’t be embarrassed to speak up for our Master or for me, his prisoner. Take your share of suffering for the Message along with the rest of us. We can only keep on going, after all, by the power of God, who first saved us and then called us to this holy work. We had nothing to do with it. It was all His idea, a gift prepared for us in Jesus long before we knew anything about it. But we know it now. Since the appearance of our Savior, nothing could be plainer: death defeated, life vindicated in a steady blaze of light, all through the work of Jesus.

James 1:2-4 (TPT) My fellow believers, when it seems as though you are facing nothing but difficulties, see it as an invaluable opportunity to experience the greatest joy that you can! For you know that when your faith is tested it stirs up in you the power of endurance. And then as your endurance grows even stronger, it will release perfection into every part of your being until there is nothing missing and nothing lacking.

Matter 10:1 (TPT) Jesus gathered his twelve disciples and imparted to them authority to cast out demons and to heal every sickness and every disease.
