The Gospel is Enough!
Galatians 1:8-9 (NKJV) But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.
Pressing into Jesus and His presence requires much patience. As you start out committing your time and attention to Him, it can feel very dry, as if you are speaking into the air. As you continue to show up, simply because you love Him and desire to be with Him... one day His tangible presence becomes evident and intoxicating. As you study His Word you realize that there's an anointing of His power He desires to give us. Jesus even promised that greater things than He did, we would also do. The problem comes when we begin to seek the power and manifestations of His Spirit more than we are seeking Him. There are even those who desire power, not to further the Gospel and see people come to Christ, delivered, healed and set free, but to make a name for themselves and to elevate their own reputation and ego.
I'm grieved by what I am witnessing in these end times. I've been to churches that practice energy healing and others that offer yoga classes. These are Buddhist and Hindu practices that have no place in the church. People argue that they do yoga to Christian music, therefore it's Christian. The meaning of yoga is to yoke or to unite, considering that each pose is an act of worship to over 330 million Hindu gods, that's not something I would want to be yoked to! It's not the music that draws these demonic entities but the movements.
I'm hearing Christians proudly proclaim their experiences of astral projection. It's an ancient occult and new age practice where their soul leaves the body and travels outside of it. This is the satanic counterpart of what Paul experienced in 2 Corinthians 12:3-4 (KJV) And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth) how that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. This was an act of God that had a specific purpose. Not something Paul sought after for a supernatural thrill.
I'm also hearing about spirit guide entities of western spiritualism that Christians are inciting to lead them to a higher level of spiritual consciousness. The only Spirit guide a believer needs is the HOLY SPIRIT and He does not need any help!!
Yes, the Lord desires to endue us with power from on High, but it's on His terms and in His timing. There's much for us to learn, flesh to crucify and pride must be replaced with humility. Keep seeking Jesus, stick to the Word of God and the Gospel you've been taught. The shed blood of Jesus is enough to heal your body, bring peace to your mind, deliver you from addictions and transform you into a powerful man or woman of God! Don't taint it with paganism and don't open yourself up to demonic spirits. Spiritual zeal is a wonderful thing if kept in check, balanced by the Word and a deeply intimate and selfless relationship with Christ... but there's a fine line that can be crossed that will lead on a path that you were never meant to tread.
Don't be distracted by the glitz and glamor of the next new spiritual attraction but wait on God and watch what His Spirit can do in an instant.
We are to be endued with power from on high not from the pit of hell!
Luke 24:29 (NKJ) Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.
John 14:12 (KJV) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Hebrews 14:8 (KJV) Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.
Galatians 5:19-21 (NLT) When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
