Testimony! October 2020

I'm praising God tonight for His faithfulness and love.

On the last day of September we had till 5pm to let the office know if we were going to extend our lease on our apartment. We had been praying, but still didn't have any clear direction. At 4:15 Rick gets a call from a company in Destin Florida that does work for the military. This recruiter proceeds to describe a dream job for my husband, doing exactly what he's been trained to do, in the field that he's experienced in... only this job is remote... Yes!! He'd get a decent salary and the benefits we need without ever leaving the house! They even said he could work from the beach if he'd like. The best part was...he never even applied for this job. He's since had a second interview and at this point we are just waiting to see what God has planned....

As most of you know we felt led to sell our home in St. Louis last October and bought one in Florida. We've been waiting on God's timing to move. The possibility of this new job was enough to encourage us to not renew our lease. At 4:50 I had the answer for the office. God is definitely never early, but He's always on time! So, as of October 31... we have to move out...

Yesterday, I began feeling like it's time to give my notice at work. I promised them a 3 week notice and that would get me to the end of the month. My husband agreed and encouraged me to just do it. It was a definite leap of faith since there's no guarantee of a job in Florida for either one of us. As the clock was ticking I began getting more nervous about it. I just wanted a word from God. I was prepared to move in whatever direction He desired..

As the clock approached 2:00, I finally knew I had to do it! It wasn't easy quitting a job I've worked at for 35 years. Of course my mind still wondered if I'd done the right thing... why didn't God give me the word I needed? Sometimes we just have to trust and move in the direction we feel He's calling us in. It doesn't always make sense, but that's where faith comes in.

A little after 4 yesterday, I get a message from Rick Crane. He's a member of this group and my church. He had absolutely no idea what I was facing, but his message gave me such peace! It simply said that God told him to tell me to JUST DO IT! He kept hearing it and my name kept coming to his mind. He said he believed this was the answer to my prayer! He first heard this at 1:30 but he didn't get a chance to tell me till 4. What confirmation! He didn't know what it meant, but he was faithful in delivering the message. Those were the words my husband used when he wrote me... just do it, and when I met with my office manager I told her that I'm just going to do it and gave her my resignation. Oh, how I love how God works! This is just the beginning of our testimony! I can't wait to fill you in on what's to come! No, I don't have a clue what it is, but it will be amazing! God's attention to the details of our lives is always incredible!

Don't waste time with a long distance, mediocre relationship with Jesus. Nothing in this world is worth separating you from Him. Yes, there's a lot to give up when the transition to total surrender begins, but there's no greater trade off or adventure than serving and trusting Him with the details of your life.... He's got a plan and even in the midst of chaos, heartache and confusion, He can turn it all into a thing of beauty if you'll surrender, trust and believe! Take your relationship to the next level, we can all stand to go deeper and get to know Him more intimately. Yes He does have a plan, but we must be close enough to hear it and willing to walk it out one step at a time, even if you can't see over the next hill or around the corner.... just trust Him! He's been there and He's got it all figured out!

Proverbs 3:5-6 (TPT) Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on Him to guide you, and He will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with Him in whatever you do, and He will lead you wherever you go.

Psalm 37:4-5 (TPT) Make God the utmost delight and pleasure of your life, and He will provide for you what you desire the most. Give God the right to direct your life, and as you trust Him along the way you’ll find He pulled it off perfectly!

Isaiah 48:17 (NLT) This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is good for you and leads you along the paths you should follow.
