Perfect Peace
Several years ago I began getting sick and experiencing extreme pain in my bones, joints and stomach. I soon found out I was extremely sensitive to gluten and once I cut it out of my diet it was life changing!!
When you feel bad for so long, you begin to think it's normal and you soon forget what it feels like to be free from pain. Now even if my meal is cross contaminated I immediately recognize that things are off and soon the pain and sickness returns.
It's the same thing spiritually. If you've never experienced the peace and joy of the Lord, you mistakenly believe anxiety is a normal emotion. As you begin to grow in your faith, press into Him and immerse yourself in His Word and presence, you begin to realize how much He loves you. You feel complete peace and joy in the protection you experience under His wings. You then become very sensitive to His Spirit and the moment you start to draw back, sin or do anything that quenches His Spirit, you know it!! You suddenly feel "off" and the pain of anxiety and despair begins to try and take control once again.
It's easy to sin and remain distant from God if you've never experienced His peace and presence, but once you have... nothing is worth feeling that separation again. When I enter the Secret Place I know immediately if I've created distance between us, so I search my heart, repent and draw close once again. That's one of the reasons I'm DESPERATE for Jesus. Our peace and contentment is directly related to the amount of time spent in His presence. He really is the answer to all of your problems!
If you desire peace and a sound mind, then life without daily time with Him is not an option. Seek Him and He will revive your heart and spirit!!! Isaiah 26:3 (NKJV) You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because He trusts in You. Isaiah 57:15 (NKJV) For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, With him who has a contrite and humble spirit, To revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
Psalm 91:4 (NLT) He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-22 (NKJV) Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.
