Let Go & Let God

I have learned to praise God as much for the closed doors as I do the open ones...

This move to Florida hasn’t looked anything like we anticipated. I expected to only work a couple days a week at a stressless, no brainer job while spending the rest of my time writing my next book, enjoying ministry opportunities, some beach and outdoor time and incredible experiences in The Secret Place. My husband was going to be working an awesome job from home, with decent pay and great benefits. Well... that’s the bait God used to get us here, but the reality is very different from the expectation... but isn’t that life?

Although our current situation isn’t what we thought it would be, I wouldn’t trade a single thing about it! I have a very busy and often stressful job, yet I feel very blessed there and know it’s exactly where I am called to be! I love my boss and the team I work with. I’ve been permitted to minister and pray in our morning huddles and some are even coming to church with me. What I would have missed had I gotten my way!

Though my husband’s job ended up falling through, he’s been working with our son-in-law 4 days a week and as of next month he’s going down to 2 days and will start collecting his social security. He’s really looking forward to that! It’s crazy and miraculous, but though our income has plunged by around $60,000-$70,000 a year, our lifestyle hasn’t changed... actually it’s better than ever and we are paying things off by God’s grace!

It’s great having plans, as long as we always make way for God’s! His are infinitely greater than ours and though they may not make sense on paper, the center of His will is always the greatest place to be! Stop fighting to get your way! Let go and let God!

Proverbs 16:9 (NKJV) A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.

James 4:13-15 (NLT) Look here, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit.”How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone. What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.”

Proverbs 3:5-6 (TPT) Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go.
