In His Presence

Isaiah 30:18 (NLT) So, the LORD must wait for you to come to Him so He can show you His love and compassion. For the LORD is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for His help.

We are currently on our third round of company over a 2-week period. Though I have loved having each of them and it's so good to see family and old friends, it does make pulling away to spend time with the Lord a little more challenging. Let's face it, no one wants to be rude and it's awkward, in the middle of having fun and conversing to suddenly say," I've got to go and spend time with the Lord!" Though no one wants to disappoint family and friends... there's one that I don't want to disappoint even more!

You see, the Lord patiently waits for us to set everything aside and run to Him! From the moment you wake up till you lay your head on the pillow, He longs for our time and attention. It's sad, but I speak to so many Christians that have very little time for God and because He's merciful and forgiving they think it's acceptable. I'll be honest with you, I'm a mess without my daily time with Jesus!

What is Christianity anyway? Is it simply a prayer that was prayed once and a ticket to heaven? At the risk of sounding harsh... there's a scripture about someone who did all kinds of amazing things for the Lord, yet he was told," I never knew you, depart from me!" What does it mean to know someone? It's all about relationship.

I was fixed up with my husband on a blind date 42 years ago. I heard a lot about him, yet till we actually met and worked on developing our relationship, I didn't KNOW him. In the Bible it goes so far as to use the word "know" as an act of intimacy that leads to childbirth... it's an intimate union of joining ourselves with the Spirit of God and it should always birth something! It produces powerful and miraculous fruit that changes lives!

Don't waste time going through the moves of Christianity without enjoying the greatest gift of all! It's a privilege getting to know Jesus, spending intimate time in His presence and getting to know His heart through His Word! No matter how long you've served Him, you've only scratched the surface and there's infinitely more you can discover IN HIS PRESENCE!!!

Genesis 4:1 (KJV) And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.

Psalm 14:2 (MSG) Yahweh looks down in love, looking over all of Adam’s sons and daughters. He’s looking to see if there is anyone who acts wisely, any who are searching for God and wanting to please Him.

John 15:15 (TPT) I have never called you ‘servants,’ because a master doesn’t confide in his servants, and servants don’t always understand what the master is doing. But I call you my most intimate and cherished friends, for I reveal to you everything that I’ve heard from my Father.

Matthew 27:22-23 (KJV) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Revelation 3:20 (NLT) “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends."

James 4:8 (TPT) Move your heart closer and closer to God, and He will come even closer to you. But make sure you cleanse your life, you sinners, and keep your heart pure and stop doubting.
