Fitting into Your Calling
Do you ever feel like you just don’t measure up? You look around at others who seem to have it completely together and feel like a total failure. You hear sermons or read books about incredible Christians and the enemy begins to whisper, “What’s the point? Why do you even try, you’ll never be like them!” No you won’t! God’s plan for your life is specifically designed to fit you!
It doesn’t matter where you are spiritually, there will always be those who are further along than you are. That’s ok, God doesn’t judge you by comparing you to anyone else! You are a unique creation and His desire is to use YOU! He knows your failures, strengths and weaknesses, yet you are still a necessary part of His plan!
There’s only one qualification and stipulation to your calling…preparation. How do you prepare for a destiny that you may not even be aware of? It simply comes down to the time you spend focusing on Jesus, both in His Word and in intimate prayer time. God doesn’t have favorites, but there are those who have prepared and made room for His anointing. They have paid the price on their knees in the Secret Place. They have repented, worshipped, praised and sought after Jesus with fervent passion and nothing will distract them from seeking their first love!
It’s not about how talented or intelligent you are, but just how much of your life, time and attention you’ve surrendered to Him. This doesn’t come naturally, but begins with desire and discipline. You have to decide how much you want to know Jesus and how much of His Spirit, power and love will you allow to flow in and through you?
Don’t keep wishing you had someone else’s calling, ability and anointing, but seek the heart of God and allow Him to shape you into the man or woman He has called you to be! The outcome may be quite different than expected and unlike anything you have ever seen…that’s perfect, as long as it’s His plan for your life and not your own!
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (TPT) Have you forgotten that your body is now the sacred temple of the Spirit of Holiness, who lives in you? You don’t belong to yourself any longer, for the gift of God, the Holy Spirit, lives inside your sanctuary. You were God’s expensive purchase, paid for with tears of blood, so by all means, then, use your body to bring glory to God!
Galatians 6:4-5 (NLT) Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else. For we are each responsible for our own conduct.
Proverbs 14:30 (TPT) A tender, tranquil heart will make you healthy, but jealousy can make you sick.
Romans 12:4-5 (TPT) In the human body there are many parts and organs, each with a unique function. And so it is in the body of Christ. For though we are many, we’ve all been mingled into one body in Christ. This means that we are all vitally joined to one another, with each contributing to the others.
