A Birthday Reflection | Created with Purpose
December 13th... I’m writing this on my Birthday. Fifty-six years ago today the Lord brought me into this world. I never understood how He chose to create someone like me. My personality is different, but aren’t we all? I was born in a family of artists, but I can’t draw a lick. I was actually never given any natural talent. I write, but I’m not a writer. I preach, but I’m not a public speaker. I have favor with both God and man and it’s totally undeserved. I have a natural tendency for stress, depression and worry, yet I live with complete joy and peace. What I’m trying to relay is, don’t limit yourself by what comes naturally to you. We can so easily remain stuck in a place of what’s been spoken over us, other people’s perceptions or what we truly know to be our weaknesses and limitations.
God’s calling and plans for our lives has absolutely nothing to do with our strengths, popularity, talents or achievements. The amount of effectiveness, usefulness and impact we make for His Kingdom relies completely on the amount of time we spend in His presence. The more of our lives we surrender to His Word and on our faces before Him in repentance, adoration and worship the more our nature and weaknesses are purged. Then more of His glory is revealed in and through us!
You may think that God couldn’t possibly use someone like you, but if you feel completely unqualified you’re exactly the canvas He’s looking for to create a masterpiece that will humbly give Him all of the glory!
We were all created with purpose, now get close enough to God to recognize it then allow His gifts and abilities to flow through you by His anointing! He’s been waiting and desires to use you!
Exodus 9:16 (NKJV) But indeed for this purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth.
Psalm 57:2 (NLT) I cry out to God Most High, to God who will fulfill His purpose for me.
Luke 4:18-19 (TPT)“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, and He has anointed me to be hope for the poor, freedom for the brokenhearted, and new eyes for the blind, and to preach to prisoners, ‘You are set free!’ I have come to share the message of Jubilee, for the time of God’s great acceptance has begun.”
1 John 2:27-29 (TPT) But the wonderful anointing you have received from God is so much greater than their deception and now lives in you. There’s no need for anyone to keep teaching you. His anointing teaches you all that you need to know, for it will lead you into truth, not a counterfeit. So just as the anointing has taught you, remain in him. And now, dear children, remain in him, so that when he is revealed we may have joyful confidence and not be ashamed when we stand before him at his appearing
