Immovable

Mark 12:30 (NASB) and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.

I am meditating on this scripture today and discussing it with the Lord. These Words carry such power for deliverance. It's only as you commit to this type of relationship with Jesus that you are made complete.

I can honestly say that I feel like the most blessed woman on the planet. Though I'm blessed in so many ways, my peace and joy have absolutely nothing to do with my current circumstances. Like most of you, I've experienced betrayal, pain, sickness, heartache, loss and lack. Those seasons did not change the tranquility within my soul.

True blessings come from knowing Jesus intimately. No, the salvation experience isn't an instant cure all, but truly knowing Him, surrendering your life and trusting Him with it is life changing. You see... as a Christian I also know what it's like to become completely devastated by the trials. There was a day when I accepted Christ and loved Him, yet I still tried to maintain control of my life and when things didn't go as planned, depression would consume me. The change is amazing to me, I know my natural tendency is to worry and have anxiety, yet it seems so foreign. Now, when things don't go as expected, I praise God because I trust Him with the direction my life is going. A change of my plans is now very exciting because I know He's actively manipulating the details of my life.... it's become an adventure!

Don't be satisfied with the salvation experience to the point of becoming lethargic in your growth. Fall madly and passionately in love with Jesus! How do you do that? Spend time getting to know Him... when you find out just how good He is, you won't be able to resist falling at His feet in total surrender. You'll soon find out that doing things His way is so much better than your own. Your emotions will become untouchable by the enemy and the pressures of life if your eyes will remain steadily focused on Him!

Isaiah 26:3 (NLT) You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, all whose thoughts are fixed on You!

Hebrews 12:1-2 (NLT) Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting Him, He endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now He is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

Mark 4:16-19 (NLT) The seed on the rocky soil represents those who hear the message and immediately receive it with joy. But since they don’t have deep roots, they don’t last long. They fall away as soon as they have problems or are persecuted for believing God’s word. The seed that fell among the thorns represents others who hear God’s word, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life, the lure of wealth, and the desire for other things, so no fruit is produced.
