Sharing God's Love in this Season

As I was spending time with the Lord tonight I began to realize the missed opportunities I had to share His love this week. In the midst of the chaos and busyness of the season, we unconsciously begin viewing people as tasks instead of human souls. As we are busy running in and out of stores with our agenda, we can miss opportunities to hear their stories and allow the love, mercy and compassion of God to flow through us. Unfortunately, we are all so busy on our "Christmas mission" we have the potential to wear blinders and forget what both this season and our existence is really about.

Today, I'm just sharing a reminder to you and myself to be more mindful of others and realize the holiday stress and grief many are experiencing, even if their anxiety is causing them to act in an unappealing way. That parking space isn't worth fighting over and the person that cuts you off may have been sent by God to cross your path so you'll pray for them. Let's remember to be the personification of Christ to the world around us. No longer self conscious, but focused on meeting the needs of others and revealing the love of God through simple acts of kindness and encouraging words. For someone, that may mean the difference between life and death. There are many on the verge of giving up, but your thoughtfulness can give them the desire to press on and if you have the opportunity to share the Gospel with them, it can be the difference of heaven or hell for all of eternity. Keep your eyes wide open and look around, what is God asking you to do today?

Philippians 2:2-4 (NLT) Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose. Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

Hebrews 6:10-12 (NLT) For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for Him and how you have shown your love to Him by caring for other believers,.as you still do. Our great desire is that you will keep on loving others as long as life lasts, in order to make certain that what you hope for will come true. Then you will not become spiritually dull and indifferent. Instead, you will follow the example of those who are going to inherit God’s promises because of their faith and endurance.

Hebrews 13:15-16 (NLT) Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to His name. And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God.
