Go with the Flow

Ahhhh... we've spent weeks packing and preparing for this move. This is the first night in our apartment and we just have a few things left at the house, then the cleaning process begins. We are totally exhausted... it's been a whirlwind. We went from feeling like we were supposed to sell our home about 8 weeks ago, to selling it, purchasing one in Florida and renting an apartment to live in St. Louis till God says it's time to go. We plan on leasing the new home out until that time comes. We didn't even know where we were going until 4 days before we needed to start moving!

God's peace is amazing to me. Neither one of us like change and we certainly aren't "risk takers." Yet here we are, barely able to catch our breath, unsure of God's plan in all of this, leaving our beautiful home behind...yet fully trusting that this is Him and we are in the center of His will. His presence through every decision has been undeniable and tangible.

As we've begun meeting our neighbors, I wonder who it is we are here for. Could it be the sweet veteran I met, who's in a wheelchair and lives in the apartment below? Or maybe it's the kind ladies in the office. It may very well be the young mother we met who lives across the hall. She was carrying her 7 year old boy with down syndrome. Or... just maybe... it's all of the above and more.

I don't know what the purpose is to this new adventure, but there's one thing I do know... an intimate relationship with Jesus is incredible. Hearing His voice and following His lead is the most fulfilling and exciting thing you'll ever experience. It's living life on mission... not holding on to anything too tightly and going with the flow of the Spirit.

Christianity alone can't provide this. It only comes from a fully surrendered life, that's lived in close proximity to our Savior. Don't waste time in a lukewarm relationship. Draw close enough to be set on fire by His presence, power and love! He's got an incredible plan for your life... draw closer, loosen your grip, give up control and go with the flow...

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT) Trust in the Lord with all your heart do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.

Matthew 16:24-26 (NLT) Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?

John 10:27 (NLT) My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
