Salvation is Now!

What does it mean to be saved? As a teenager I had some family members explain to me you had to be saved to go to heaven. That heaven and hell were real places and if you died without being saved you would go to hell. This was great information to have but one thing was left out of this story. How to be saved…? I was never told that I could pray and ask Christ to come into my heart to be my Lord and Savior and ask for forgiveness of my sins. I felt like I was supposed to wait for this euphoric moment to spontaneously occur and if this moment never occurred and I died in a car accident, then I was doomed!

I feared death already, I was happy to know that there was a chance of going to heaven, but I never knew how. I was uncertain of this years ago and many others are just as lost and confused today. The enemy is deceiving people left and right and has a mission to give you short term pleasures, fill you with pride and covetousness so you will believe that you can only be blessed while on the earth. Everyone will give an account for their life once it's over and blame will not work with God. If you are reading this, you can no longer claim ignorance. If you don't know where you will be for eternity, you have a choice. God is longing for you to spend time with Him and get to know Him. He knows everything about you, and nothing you say will surprise Him. The book of Romans has many wonderful scriptures about salvation. The bottom line is, if you want eternity with Jesus and you want God to help you live this life on earth, receive Him! Ask Him for forgiveness and ask Him to come into your heart and be your Lord and Savior and you shall be saved! Just as Christ publicly died on a cross for our sins, we should also publicly profess our faith in Him. Your life will never be the same!

Romans 3:23-24 (AMP) All have sinned and continually fall short of the glory of God, and are being justified [declared free of the guilt of sin, made acceptable to God, and granted eternal life] as a gift by His [precious, undeserved] grace, through the redemption [the payment for our sin] which is [provided] in Christ Jesus.

Romans 8:37-39 (AMP) Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us]. For I am convinced [and continue to be convinced—beyond any doubt] that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present and threatening, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the [unlimited] love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 10:9-10 (AMP) If you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord [recognizing His power, authority, and majesty as God], and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart a person believes [in Christ as Savior] resulting in his justification [that is, being made righteous—being freed of the guilt of sin and made acceptable to God]; and with the mouth he acknowledges and confesses [his faith openly], resulting in and confirming [his] salvation.
