The Path to the Promise
The path to your promised land can be a difficult one. For the children of Israel, it was 40 years in a desert. Though God's hand of blessing and provision was still upon them, they chose to dwell on negativity, instead of praising Him for the blessings. The results? Most died never obtaining their promise.
As our daughter and son-in-law began the process of moving to their dream destination in Florida, all signs seemed to be pointing in that direction and they felt total peace that God was leading them there. Incredible doors of opportunity were opened and they were moving forward to obtain the blessing.
As moving day approached the opposition intensified. You might say all hell broke loose. I won't go into the details, but it was literally a daily onslaught of bad news and resistance from the mortgage company, builder and even their only car broke down en route. The cool thing was that even as the forces raged and frustration and discouragement would bid for our attention we all continued to praise God and give the enemy as little attention as possible. I was so proud of them as they'd continually force their focus back on the goodness of God! The results? Closing ended up thousands less than originally quoted and it happened on the day they wanted, though the mortgage company said it would never happen. Even though their car is not under warranty, the car company is paying for the repairs, a rental for now, shipment to them and the list goes on.
God's goodness is amazing! Whatever you are going through, continue to worship and trust Jesus! He's got this and the only way to remove it from His hands is to hand it over to the enemy through fear, doubt and complaining.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
Psalm 34:1-10 Living Bible (TLB) I will praise the Lord no matter what happens. I will constantly speak of his glories and grace. I will boast of all his kindness to me. Let all who are discouraged take heart. Let us praise the Lord together and exalt his name. For I cried to him and he answered me! He freed me from all my fears. Others too were radiant at what he did for them. Theirs was no downcast look of rejection! This poor man cried to the Lord—and the Lord heard him and saved him out of his troubles. For the Angel of the Lord guards and rescues all who reverence him.Oh, put God to the test and see how kind he is! See for yourself the way his mercies shower down on all who trust in him. If you belong to the Lord, reverence him; for everyone who does this has everything he needs. Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those of us who reverence the Lord will never lack any good thing.
