Luke 4:42-44 (NLT) Early the next morning Jesus went out to an isolated place. The crowds searched everywhere for him, and when they finally found him, they begged him not to leave them. But he replied, “I must preach the Good News of the Kingdom of God in other towns, too, because that is why I was sent.” So he continued to travel around, preaching in synagogues throughout Judea.
I love that Jesus said to the crowds He MUST preach the Good News, it wasn't just something He wanted to do or thought it was a good idea, rather it was a deep conviction that He knew He had to complete His mission and fulfill His purpose while on the earth. There was never a question of how will it get done or where will the money come from for this trip or who is coming with me, He just did what He knew He came to do. I so desire for all Believer's to have this same conviction with their calling and purpose and to step out in faith fulfilling our destiny without having all the answers right away. We know that God is with us, this is exactly what we are supposed to do and He will take care of the rest.
I feel much time is wasted in our desire to have every detail perfect, it's like we are trying to shape each phase of the journey without any room for surprises which is what life will indeed bring. Why not live in that place of wonder and expectancy, waiting for the next assignment and instruction rather than becoming disappointed when our own plans don't go as desired? I'm often guilty of this, when I have plans for the day or the week and there is a change I feel like I've lost control of what was supposed to happen and now rearranging everything feels daunting when it's really not that big of a deal. We are often bored in our mundane routines yet get frustrated when the unexpected happens - this is what we should plan for - the unexpected.
Is there something in your life that you know you MUST do? Likely there have been things you have done from your convictions and people will question why you do that and really there isn't a better response other than, I just know I have to and this is what I feel God is calling me to do and I have total peace about it. This is my heart for everything I do for the Kingdom of God - praying and asking God what it is He wants me to do - never saying, God please let me do what this person is doing, it seems better. Because everyone has a different assignment and journey and we all will have times of feeling like it would be better to do someone else's assignment but being in the center of God's will is the only place I want to be. Stepping in someone else's shoes and trying to live their journey would be complete misery because there would never be peace. My plea to you is to know what your deep convictions are regarding your calling and if you don't know them now, pray and seek God until that answer is clear so you may live each day knowing and fulfilling your purpose.
Proverbs 19:21 (AMP) Many plans are in a man’s mind, But it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand (be carried out).
